Hello, I am just setting a aquaponic system, I converted my 50000 L swimming pool to a pond and will use the 200L blue plastic drums cut in half (8 halves)
I would like to know if someone can help me how often does the water need to fill and drain from the grow beds and is there any reason why the water can not go directly back to the pond , also how many jade perch i need for this system, There is about 30 jade perch in it now about 150mm long and about 15 goldfish from 50- 130mm long as well as snails and numerous gudgeons.I am also looking to expand the system in future if all is good,
at the moment i build a 3 tier waterfall with a total height of 1.5 meters from the water surface of the pond. as well as a fountain in the deep end of the pond.
the pond is full of duckweed and lilies with about 70% cover . any suggestions and help will be greatly appreciated.
i hope i can have it all ready for the spring, i am situated in the se qld logan area

My mom has had so much time is isolation lately that she's redoing her entire fishpond, so I sent her this for some inspiration! She's so excited now 😛

Is it beneficial to put rock/media in the fish tank or sump tank? Why? I’ve also seen a bunch of folks putting a couple fish in their sump tank.. doesn’t this bypass a solids filter?

I have two problems. My plants are light yellow/green (to much nitrogen), and winter < 60 Deg. tempature (tried geothermo air through ground thermal

Another great video Rob Bob. One question what is the black pipe you're using called? I've tried finding it but haven't been able to
    Regards

I was heartbroken when I saw the title of the earlier video that said you were ripping out the old system. Rob responded to me that he was building a new one. This system looks great! Good job Rob!

    Hello Rob
This is my first time commenting on one of your videos. But I have watched many of your videos, and you have been a great help. I have learned a lot from you.
I was wondering if you could possibly checkout my aquaponic system (https://youtu.be/spMI5pxgVZc), and let me know what you think. Basically what you think I should add or do differently, what I am doing wrong, etc any input helps. I am relatively new to aquaponics and am always looking to learn more and develop my own working system. I am almost done with the setup but thought to ask you and see what you think.

    Thanks
