I wish we had some of your winter weather here in Canada Rob. Our white stuff is snow 🙂 Great look around in the front yard.

I don't think I would be able to use IBC for our winter as I would assume that the cold winter temps would split the plastic, but I can see they would make a great wicking bed. I know I have to dump out my wicking beds for the winter, which is a bit of a pain

    Cheers mate

Hi Rob always enjoy your very informative videos, have some questions hope you can help.
In Nigeria the potting mix and other "store bought" manures are not available at least not anywhere near where I live.
    1. Can I use poultry droppings mix with wood sawdust, cow dung, pig dung and mix with soil to fill the wicking bed as manure?

I would like to thank you for your wonderful videos they are a fantastic resource for me. I am new to the wonderful world of fruit and veg gardening, I am not far from you in location when would you suggest starting seeds inside for spring?

    Thanks.

Hey RobBob, great garden and I can see a possible problem with your container trees. You have made a mistake a lot of people make when planting trees. You have brought the soil up above the roots so it is in contact with trunk. This can cause many problems for your trees such as disease and rot. It can also stunt there growth as the trees need to put energy into fighting of molds and fungus from the bark being in contact with damp soil over long periods of time. As the tree weakens over time your problems will compound. Howard Garrett known on youtube as Dirt Doctor has some excellent videos on proper tree care.
