Very Simple Homemade Indoor DIY Hydroponics System Day 1!
Welcome to a brand new series on my channel: my homemade DIY INDOOR HYDROPONICS! This series will show the progress of my first ever indoor flood and drain grow bed hydroponics system. This system uses a liquid nutrient solution held in a lower bucket that gets pumped constantly into the grow bed, which then drains back into the bucket and the cycle is repeated.
This system is setup in my basement and uses an LED light system to provide the plants with the simulated sunlight. My goals with this project are to see which types of plants grow well inside the flood and drain bed system, as well as if it’s possible to grow plants in a basement.
I am in NO WAY and expert, as this is my first time creating a setup like this. If you have any tips or tricks please let me know in the comments. Also, please let me know if you have any questions about anything I show in this video and I will try to answer them as best as I can!
be careful all the glue and chemical products
I would line or paint that galvanized tank– too much lead and zinc can leach into the food.
Hello, I really liked how detailed your project is. Could I get a set of plans?
Where do you buy your dripline barbs? The inserts?
why not use drip line instead of pvc – the barb fittings stay much better in that … likely a lot cheaper too?
Stole your idea. Looks good, hope it works. Haven't put any plants in yet. Working on small greenhouse first, need to keep it out of the rain. I used epoxy, seems to hold, I have ran a water test, everything is good.
Man dc that radio, hard to hear!
Thanks for sharing. What nutrients ate you using? I'm trying to learn this. Thanks again
About how much is it to build the setup
Did this set up about five years ago out of 8 foot round thin 4 inch pvc sewer pipe from the local hardware store. Should have used the square fence posts from Home Depot. I would find a way to leave the top open or re-moveable to get rid of all the roots. Once those plants take off and they will. Depending on the nutrients. The root system is extremely difficult to remove in a closed tube. Love that water tub. Great idea. I'm in S. Calif. and had to bury my water barrels to keep the water from getting too warm. Outside system. Good luck with it will be following you to see what happens.
Nice, help to finalize my choice,
NICE!! weres part 3 at????
I would like to use NFT in this setup, not drip lines. Thanks!
and just realized this was three months old and no follow up……plants die from nutrients being added to early?
I must admit bro I like your set up
