Getting protein from animal products is the most land and water intensive. savory is a load of crap. Eat plants, leave the grazed land alone and it will recover itself. It’s cheaper to not do anything and eat veggies.

If shade retains moisture among other things why haven't trees and plants been specially selected to grow in the harsh desert by slowly creeping it in? Using plants that need very little water would seem logical.

Interesting though a little too dilute. Wanted to hear more about the Green Wall of Africa and fewer generalities and waffle. Surely there must be some Google images of the Green Wall? And ground-level photos?
Also, little detail of the organisations are involved in the project, who’s doing the coordinating, and where the cash is coming from. So, the trees being planted are mainly acacia. So why not show some proper photos of them? So many unanswered questions…

nope. what an incredible blunder of ill logic. water is still needed. climate is cyclical. carbon dioxide is plant food. the more carbon dioxide in the air the stronger and more resiliant plants become. this is a waste of money, ultimately stealing from those not even born yet because all money is borrowed money and the interest is not put into circulation. but you can watch and feel better, and comment because that really accomplishes something. instead of doing your own research. deserts have been greening because foosil fuels store CO2, released when burned, plants use it. but these tree planters will say planting trees is what's greening the already greening deserts, and higher elevations too.
