My dad gave me a hard time that I didn’t have any edibles on my vertical garden in my bedroom (see: vimeo.com/summerrayneoakes/greenwall) so I asked him if he would be down building one for the kitchen. Much to my surprise, he was – so we embarked on designing a Mason Jar Herb & Plant Garden for the wall, which looks and functions very well! This is a little How-To video to get you inspired and possibly do one for your home.
(This video is the first in a three-part series on How to Green Your Home).

Love this, and have been trying this to a lesser extent in my own flat. How do you keep away the flies though. Even though I'm an extreme clean freak, the plants have brought the fruit flies with them. Would quite like to avoid the chemicals if possible.
CHeers and keep up the videos
This is a great idea, but hard to get through that you just ramble on–5 minutes of rambling, and 4 minutes for the project! Was good once you got to the project.
another great idea thank you
That was great! The only thing I would change would be to make the music more in the background. It was too loud.
Too. Much. Talking.
Can not hear anything
Too much talking
;)
The vid gives gerneral idea, but they skipped many steps !
what's the charcoal for?
Doesnt this fuck up your walls. I mean, the plants will cause a certain amount of humidity that in turn will promote fungus grow throughout your walls and discoloration? Or is there some humidity machine in play in your apartment and wall type protection in place.
Completely amazing….what a great idea. Thanks!!
That is badass!
Oh my gosh, I LOVE this so much!
I absolutely love this! Great job to both and a nice daughter-father project!
I'm in love this is what I'm doing to my room now

If this was the DC world, You'd be a brunette version of Poison Ivy. lol!
But I admire you. I love plants too! Your place looks amazing.
I was wondering if you had any issues with algae growing in the clear glass? Perhaps the use of blue or some other colored glass to help prevent that from happening?
