Taking a leaf out of Mexico, Bengaluru is growing vertical gardens on flyover and Metro pillars. SayTree, a group working in urban afforestation, has planted the first organic vertical garden on a pillar on Hosur Road. More than 3,000 plants in 12 species are hung in pots on an aluminium mesh hugging the pillar.
