The roof of the Vancouver BC Convention Centre is covered with over 2.5 hectares (6 acres) of native grassland. Usually closed to the public, we were able to get a tour and interview with the landscape architect of the project, Bruce Hemstock.

i worked on the building adjacent to this and the concept of green roofs with waterproofing have been out for about 10 years now, its a joy to see such a large project underway with this waterproofing technology, all buildings should incorporate this for the aid of the planet
