Using drones for landscape design
June 26, 2021 10:10 am
Using drones for landscape layout-In this video, I will use drones to review upcoming plans for the front yard. Earlier this year, I did something similar in the backyard. I think it helps to see the complete space. #landscsape #garden #drone Jim’s product links-using these Amazon links to buy the tools I use in the video is a great way to support the channel. Thanks for watching. Products-For more information, please visit-www.horttube.com Facebook page Instagram Twitter.

I have one of those pole support wires in a hellstrip. I want to plant the whole thing out but kind of nervous about keeping it “neat” while everything grows in.
Using the drone I can easily envision what you are planning. Great idea!!!
Why are you just putting containers where the tree was. Is there a reason you can't plant there? Looking forward to the process
so cool to see how much you are doing on a small city lot!
I love the concept of no turf. Love watching the space evolve ❤️
Excited to see the end transformation! Enjoy watching landscape designs!
Jim this is a big project
I'm in awe how quickly you work. I labor over garden plans for hours then second guess myself. Your garden and home improvements are coming together beautifully. I like the drone view.
You got just as much work as I do on your property. Good luck. Hope you hire help for that driveway.
I like the aerial footage with you talking down below.
I did Googlescaping (using Google Maps) and Recordscaping (using the sattelite view with measurements on my county property tax website.) Loving your dronescaping!
All that mulch!
What a brilliant idea to use the drone this way! That with the spray can just is really helping me visualize. It is looking really nice! I would consider the paths not too be very narrow. Just from my experience, wider paths are more functional and visually pleasing…although more costly, front of the house needs good foundation.
Not sure if this has been asked and answered yet…If the tree was diseased it's still ok to use as mulch where you'll be planting? I have a Cherry tree I'll have to take down for the same reason and thought I'd have to just get rid of it.
How much did it cost to get that tree down
Will be Very exciting to see all of it come together,, love the drone footage
Going to be amazing to see the progression and your tree and shrub selection… it’s going to be good! Thanks Jim.
Very nice.
You explained this really well and enjoyed you identifying the plants in the yard. This side requires more hardscape and some unique challenges such as the tree root ball, narrow ally due to a previous extension, and redirecting water away from the sunken driveway! Cant wait to see it all unfold and issues resolved. And the hot tub sounds perfect!
Cant wait to see how you design and plant the front. Idea maybe move the Chinese dogwood to where the maple was? Also you going to move some of the plants you want from the front to shady place, like the hostas otherwise that stuff is going to cook in the sun this year
Thanks for helping us visualize your landscaping plans with the overhead view from the drone footage! I've often wished I could see my property from above, it gives a different perspective. I have plans to redo my whole front yard this spring, diggers hotline was called so now everything is marked, and ready for me to begin! ~Margie
That’s a lot of work Jim. Are you doing everything yourself or hire out some of that labor? Your ambitious….can’t wait to see it.
It's so satisfying seeing a good plan come to fruition! I think I want a drone just so I can get that great view of my own property as it changes. We're planning a large bed expansion in the front this spring and summer, and a massive redesign of our raised bed garden over the winter. Watching videos like yours helps build my confidence in my vision and my ability to make it reality. Thank you for sharing!
Wow, this house is going to look magnificent with a porch. Can’t wait to see the progress!
