Beautiful arches add height and look very nice when your tomatoes and beans climb up the sides.
Here is a link to where you can order the arches (I think it is the same one) :

I have used these cheaply made arches to grow beans, peas, tomatoes, and cucumbers for 4 years. I have LOVED using them.I recommend installing them over pathways so they will not shade your plants (unless you need shade). The height of these arches provides GREAT air circulation which is sooo important in reducing fungus and molds in the garden
I will show you how you can purchase and install them . Also, I will show you how they have held up to the weather and what you can expect if you decide to try them in your garden too.
Spray paint them!
great video im just about to install mine! How about covering it with a bin liner or cheap garden furniture covering to protect the arch in winter?
Thanks for the recommendation!
Im using woodprix instructions to make it and I do it already 🙂
Hi Donna, What are those crisscross arches on your square beds? Is that to cover with greenhouse plastic in winter? Do you have a demo video on how you put those together? I have Mel's book too, but seeing a person put it together on video pulls it all together.
Great Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about – Dalletante Magic Growth Blueprint (should be on google have a look)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my GF finally unbelievably got substantialy tall with it.
Garden is looking good mam! I love the arbor you set up, my hubby just made me one out of wood, and it was so sweet of him, but the darn thing already is coming apart. I might have to see about getting one like the one you had!
Couldn't you use pvc pipe to make arches and put them over the rebar? Seems like that would be more sturdy and cheap, plus they would not heat up in the summer like metal does so not to burn the plant.
Thank you so much for all your helpful videos. I am new to gardening and I have learned so much from you. I made my first trip to a Old Town Pottery store. They have these arches on sale right now for $9.99. I am going to grow beans this year and I am going to use them for the beans. I am trying the square foot gardening and bought the book. My husband does a hydroponic bucket system for tomatoes and squash which we both like but we decided after watching your video to try square foot gardening. We both love to watch your videos. My husband likes the cooking ones because he does most of the cooking. He is retired and I still work so he has dinner ready ever night when I get home. Love that man!Lol, Keep those videos coming.
Nice video. I'm amazed how long they have lasted.
omg thank you for finding these i have been a fan of yours for two seasons now and i am so excited that i can finally get these. i just bought a house and i want to do like four to five arches up my front walk with beans and flowers on them.
This arch at Amazon (Prime eligible) is just under $22… not sure if it would be appropriate. http://www.amazon.com/Real-Sized-Metal-Decoration-Arch/dp/B006XL39XU/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1394592239&sr=1-3&keywords=7+foot+arch
Years ago when my daughter got married I bought some of theses at MICHAELS.
Hi Donna – want to try the greasy pole beans. I found a website that has a huge number of different kinds. What is the name of the ones you grow…thanks for answering
I'm actually looking for arches for my garden, thanks for the link Donna! I'll look it up!
I'm just getting ready to put out some Peas and Beans and this idea strikes my fancy. Since I'm so limited on space, I'm always keen on great ways to grow upwards. I like the way it uses the trellis idea, but also adds that architectural element to the garden as well. Thanks for sharing!
Cool idea, Donna! I'm seriously considering this.
This is a great approach! I really like the idea of growing on an archway over a path. What a great use of space!
Trellising is great. Lucky you, being able to be out in your yard. You have such a beautiful view. I know you enjoyed being outside & playing in your gardens. Keep the videos coming, my friend. It makes me think Spring is close to coming in my area.
Thank you for the great video!
