On this day 19 years ago, I serendipitously met my soulmate here. I was 13 and he 29. He was waiting for a friend and saw me bossing my brothers around, so he came up and said, “hey, it’s ok, just be a kid” and walked away. I had no idea how prophetic those words would be in my life.
As I became an adult, I realized that my childhood was taken from me by trauma, and thus I began a journey of healing.
We had another serendipitous encounter 5 years later, but still parted ways as strangers. Until fate brought us together, again, 12 years later and 700 miles away. Only this time, all the circumstances were right for us to be friends and eventually start a relationship. It wasn’t until a few months into dating that we remembered our fateful encounters years prior, starting at Bok Tower.
When we first met in person as adults, he played me the Ben Folds song “The Luckiest”, not realizing how the second verse spoke to our story. It’s about an older man who recognizes something in a young girl’s eyes. It’s not meant as sexual, just to clarify. But that recognition is absolutely real and undeniable. It’s the most powerful thing I’ve ever experienced.

Anywho. Just wanted to share our story. Thank you for this video of the gardens. They will forever hold a special place in my heart❤️

i love when elderly people share their memories in places like that. it's in my opinion the most immersive way to get a feel being back in time. ty for the video

Worked there years ago. Really enjoyed seeing how little it changed and what is new! From what you showed, looks like you missed a lot of things there. I'm hoping you just cut it for time.

I visited this place w my family and a friend and his family in the 80s!We Came from Melbourne Beach in an RV stayed at the River Ranch and heard about Bok tower and had a great experience!I was impressed by Mr Boks generosity. He was a Dutch immigrant who wanted to repay the all that America had given to him by constructing the tower and donating the land as a sign of his appreciation!Your video brought back memories my kids have grandkids now and this brought back some wonderful memories!Thankyou!
