In Singapore, the challenge of feeding a growing population is pushing the concept of urban farming to new heights. A super-efficient vertical farming system is producing greens for 5 million residents.
“Can we supply enough food for everyone on the planet?” is a question plaguing leaders around the world. In Singapore SkyGreen offers one example of how this might be possible, “not just technically, but economically”. By increasing their food security while reducing the impact of food production on global climate change, SkyGreen is 10 times more productive per square foot than conventional farming.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/create-state-run-sustainable-agriculture-systemThis is an idea I've had for a while now. If it gets 100,000 petitions then we will receive an official statement from the president. Please take a look at it. I personally believe something like this could change the world. Please sign and please repost wherever you can.?
This is definitely the future for all mankind.?
This is agri industry not permaculture?
Parece un lujo, pero si puede hacerse sustentable utilizando energ

we only require a australia to feed 10 billion or more population, food is there in every country, africa is becoming rich deverloping modern methods asia too. food is not problem for us, but fertile soil is?
Electricity costs must be super high for some of these projects, especially in the case of that one over in Japan that uses the LED lights. I like this rotating tower though, hopefully it circumvents this problem.?
omg i thought about this b4 even inside spaceship?
Haha yet the world relies on a tiny little country like NZ to provide milk… an agricultural nightmare, their country is not clean and green as they say.?
Seems too good to be true. What are the downsides to vertical farms??
while towers are good since there in the cities board out mountains would also be good farms since there usually sparkly populated?
Right now, I'm learning how to become an engineer, in order to create the most cost-efficient and highest yielding vertical farms. I find that creating these farms for the sole purpose of growing leafy greens is a waste of potential. Why not grow things like hemp and various other types of plants that could supply building materials and hundreds of other different uses. These vertical farms are the answer to the worlds problems, and I'll be damned if I don't make this happen.?
oh my god Brass Eye is becoming real life?
