In this video I discuss some of the benefits or both outdoor and indoor gardening. I have been doing a lot of comparing this summer as I worked with both an indoor aquaponics setup and an outdoor square foot garden. I think that there is a clear place for both types of gardens but if you are considering a small aquaponics setup I am leaning more towards the benefits of growing indoors. You be the judge, check out the video to hear the argument. Thanks for watching!

What is the temperature of the area you try and keep it at in the winter, summer? What is the temperature of the water you try and keep it at in the winter, summer? What is the humidity level you try and keep it at in the winter, summer?

@Phil Morris – As far as the best way to grow vegetables I would have to say hands down it would be aquaponics. Things grow fast, you never have to worry about watering, and eventually you get to harvest fish out of the system as well. Good luck with your system, keep me updated, thanks for watching!!

Wish I had more room to do the Aquaponics. Those peppers look delicious.  My peppers are outdoors and have been pretty stunted with the very cool weather up here.  I am getting some now and some tomatoes.  Beans are doing great in my raised bed.

Thanks for all your videos. I'm building a system about the same size as yours, and I'll be using your swirl filter design and your idea to lay the sump tank on it's side (initially as a fish tank). You left us hanging about which growing system is better. The answer isn't obvious to me because I've never had a garden and my aquaponics system is only starting to come together. If I had to guess, I'd say outdoor gardening is better, but what do you say?

Great video dude, been watching your channel for sometime with this and another account. Was waiting to see how you would compare the two ways to grow. Comparing my friends aquaponics i built with tomatoes i growing indoors certainly agree. Tomatoes can be tricky to get to good size indoors i found.

I know my friend wants me to build a vertical aquaponics for pea vines, which i guess can work for tomatoes. So need to make video on that when get round to building it.

Have you ever tried to "encourage" the plants to grow horizontally?
