A farm in the heart of downtown San Diego. That’s the vision of Brandon Martella. But the 24-year-old architect’s farm doesn’t stretch outward, it rises upward 500 feet — like a skyscraper greenhouse. http://ow.ly/i7xDm

I'm from the future to tell you this will never happen
San Diego only likes generic architecture
Tr
cool idea. How do we force it on china and the rest of the developing world where a majority of pollution comes from?
Is the project already constructed?
Hi, I am doing my thesis on vertical farming, how did you go about it? Can you plz tell me
Hydroponically grown crop does not "lack in nutrition". Anything in soil can be added to hydroponics. Even Fulvic and Humic acids, and absolutely minerals. Crops pushed by nitrate and not fed properly with High Brix -thinking. You never know what your soil is missing, until you analyse it, in hydroponics you know instantly and usually keep constant track, in some places the computer does it, and the farmer can follow and keep documented exactly how much co2 there's been in the air around the plants, how much nutrients has been used, the humidity, the temperature, on all zones.
Dirt-farmers are all about set it and forget it, then hope and pray nothing goes wrong..
I'd take crisp high brix hydro grown produce, packed with vitamins and flavors, over that cow manure toxic nitrite filled garbage that most "organic" growers produce, any day of the week!
dude. read ivanka trumps book then drop her a card. you never know she might see the value of itn she tends to think outside the box and has sho we n capability for vision. you never know. its worth a try
great idea
Singapore already has an urban vertical farm…
Brilliant idea I think. This the kind of thinking that will change the world for the better!
If you were to create a sustainable vertical farm , closed loop system that can produce food 24/7 365 in abundance in a 100 story bld 2 acre plot, would the value of the food being produced drop to near zero? and if so where is the need for monetary exchange ? ….
Hmmm…
Looks like a very economical way of growing food.
