This was a really good harvest of potatoes for not even trying:) I grow them in a potato tower that I made and just built up soil as they grew! Worked out great!

16 lbs is pretty sad for that much area, look up Ruth Stout method.
Thumbs up for Ryan! And thanks Dad, I'm gonna try this in Colorado!
Well done!! :-)!!
Don't be afraid to be spider man ….Anyway great video
Best results in a potato tower video I've seen. I've tried the tower method with not much success,
So, not to rain on your enthusiasm, but you achieved 16 pounds of yield from 5 plants, which is about 3.2 lbs per plant. That's actually below average yield for Yukon Gold under normal field grown conditions.
This is exciting !! well done. can't wait to view 2018 potato tower success
Curious as to why you record in 60fps when you upload your videos in 30fps
Appreciating you videos. TY
You've probably noticed that a "tower" isn't really necessary, as all the spuds were in the bottom half of your box. I've found the same thing, so the whole tower thingy is just extra work, both to fill it and to empty it. My "towers" are no more than 2 ft tall, max and that's still a bit too tall, really…some are only a foot tall and yield the same amount of spuds. I don't even use soil, I just fill the rings/towers with leaves, hay, compost in layers all fall and winter, then just shove spuds down into it in the spring. Then I just top off the bins with more hay and leaves in the spring if they've broke down too low in the winter.
one tip i would say use is put holes in side boards to drain water those spuds you lost at bottom is potato rout and it water sitting at the bottom when you water so i would some hole in side board for drainage , other then that great job
what do you attribute the most for your potato harvest success? nice tater tower. I'm filling mine now. I've got a much better way of construction that doesn't require ever removing or doing any deconstructing. if your interested I'll share.
very less, from 1kg you should harvest aprox. 10kg. How much kg you put ?
Whoa dude, I was excited along with you as those baseball-sized potatoes practically leaped out of the soil! Looking forward to planting in 2018.
I was number 420 to like and with the great music its a sign, I had thought of making the very same planters and came across this tutorial now I no how I'm gonna construct them . Cheers.
if you leave three sides off of it and just add the boards as you need them, the plants will get more light and produce better. I just made my own out of free wood, it's 3 ft tall and 2×2. I only bought screws 😀 I hope to grow yukon golds this year if I can find some that haven't been sprayed with anti growing chems.
Good job n thanks
