Dickson Despommier, PhD is a Professor Emeritus of Public and Environmental Health at Columbia University. Over the past three decades he has researched the molecular aspects of intracellular parasitism. His interests include the health effects caused by parasites around the world and whether the life cycle of these organisms can be harnessed and adapted for therapeutic treatments. Dr. Despommier spoke at the inaugural InnovateMED: CUMC and the City conference on September 27th, 2014. The event was held in Alumni Auditorium at Columbia University Medical Center.
