Self Sufficient Me is based on our small 3-acre property/homestead in SE Queensland Australia about 45kms north of Brisbane – the climate is subtropical (similar to Florida). I started Self Sufficient Me in 2011 as a blog website project where I document and write about backyard food growing, self-sufficiency, and urban farming in general. I love sharing my foodie and DIY adventures online so come along with me and let’s get into it! Cheers, Mark 🙂

G'day Everyone, fair dinkum I had never heard of strawberry spinach but I'm super keen to try growing and eating it because if spinach gives Popeye big muscles well then what would strawberry spinach do?! Cheers 🙂
Omg Birdies in NZ now! Thank you! Since your recommendation years ago, I’ve been trying to get them, even contacted them directly to find out if they distribute to New Zealand, and finally they do! ❤️❤️❤️
Are you living in Australia
We had a terrible season for capsicum too (just west of Brissy). Glad to know that it wasn't just us.
Just in case you want to know about “Chop Suey” which is a Chinese-American dish:
https://www.asianstudies.org/publications/eaa/archives/whos-afraid-of-chop-suey/
In the US, we pronounce the cauliflower (Roma-nesco) and the “chop suey” greens (cra-San-thuh-mum).
The vegetable spaghetti, I bake. You need to remove it from the oven while the inside is cooked but a little firm.
Cook it too long and you'll have squash puree!
Roman-ES-co. Fractal!
Good to hear that there is a Birdies code for Aussies. Was just about to order a couple of new beds so very timely. Thanks for another great video.
I wonder that he's living in tropical area or temperate one. Could everyone help me with this question?

I don't think anyone should dislike these videos.
Great content — always full of energy and excitement!
Hi Mark,
Where did you buy all those strange seeds? Am keen on trying the strawberry spinach too and the crysanthymum and really everything. Can you get viewers discounts on them too?
Mark, last year I had 10 of those pineapple stripe tomatoes (ananas). They are an indeterminate late variety, with juicy, very tasty fruits, full of aroma. The fruits weigh 300-400 g and have very few seeds. Kinda Marmande variety. This year I bought 2 packs (20 seeds) as those tomatoes became the favorites of our family, along the black ones. Hope you'll enjoy them, too! Anyway, good choise!

Oops forgot, we did Romanesque last winter was good.

This weekend I'm putting in most of the winter veg the seedlings from seeds last month n the now 4 week soil prep. Hoping for great winter production. Let us know the tastes of the spinach berries n the rest of the new flavs.
Hahaha. Roman esko
Spaghetti squash can be picked early, like Zucchini and so-called 'summer' squash, and steamed or boiled as you would them – that's the only way I eat it now. Skin gets really hard and flesh gets stringy, but some like it that way. Try 'em green – it's like a new food.
