⁉️🌺My top garden design tips (when you are not a garden designer👩🏼🌾) | Linda Watt
🌳🆘🌳 I am often asked when designing my landscape how I decide what shrubs to put where…or in this case, renovate and repair my landscape ❗️ In this video, I try Share my views on the design of my informal garden and focus on creating natural color drift and rhythmic planting throughout the front garden bed. I can’t thank my friends who live in the south of plants and encore azaleas for saving me and providing these gorgeous shrubs to help me restore damaged plants! Check out this great article on using Encore to grow azaleas and camellias: Get important tips on how to grow acidophilic shrubs: My top garden design tips: 1. Use electronic signs to help map where you want to place plants 2. Sticking to a more limited palette creates complexity and allows easier decision-making. 3. Try to incorporate the beautiful effects you find in nature into your landscape design. 4. It is the gardener’s privilege to change your mind! Don’t be afraid to change your mind and manipulate your position. 5. Consider picking plants that bloom in spring and fall to ensure that your garden has color throughout the season. 6. Informal design provides greater flexibility for changes after major weather events. If something goes wrong, symmetrical design is more difficult to repair. Beautiful flowers. Are you standing on real grass?
Those Encore Azaleas are so gorgeous, lifted my spirits.
As spring has edged its way in and I began to clean up my limited gardening space I began to watch your videos for ideas to enhance it. I have even found several little volunteer trees which are doing quite well in their little pots waiting for their permanent home. I like a lot of color and I’m using more pots. I really enjoy your videos and your explanations and tips. I know there are probably a thousand plants you would like add to your garden but I I suggest two candidates: Variegated Wegelia and Texas Star Hibiscus. Both are beautiful additions to any garden. Keep taping and I’ll keep watching.
Linda you may need to consider buying a drone. I'd love to see your garden from a bird's eye view. 🙂
When that ribbon of azaleas manifests, I want to see before and after, side by side!
I just found your channel and love it! I have to ask a non-gardening question, where did you get your shirt? Love it!
I'm completely hooked on your U-tube site. I can't remember when I've felt so inspired! I wish I lived next door!

Thanks ,Linda, for the great tips. I'll be interested to see how the Encore Azaleas bloom. I'm not sure if I have mine in a sunny enough spot. I didn't add any fertilizer when I planted them, thinking that the nursery would have put lots in the pot, but maybe I should have. They didn't bloom this Fall, but maybe with a little "food", they will …..
