The official channel of the cartoon and the movie Minuscule.
MINUSCULE revolves around the day-to-day existence of insects which are presented in burlesque situations, with a fair amount of philosophical contemplation thrown in. A cross between a Tex Avery cartoon and a National Geographic documentary !

Sometimes it is easy to get ahead of ourselves and completely fill up our vegetable garden planting plan, however, in this video, I go over 7 reasons why you should always leave a bit of the garden ‘unplanned’ to give you the freedom to do so many different things. This spare section, such as a raised bed, should be left out from your usual plan so you retain full control and creativity with it. It is a lot of fun and can bring the most wonderful rewards from it.

Great video thank you.
Wish I could, no space
I have a spare bed that I use as an experimental bed, seed collecting bed , kids garden bed
I like to keep spare planting spaces/beds to protect me from myself! I am developing a food forest on a 3.75 acre space (began Spring 2018) and populating it from the center to the edges and when I commit to planting too much in Spring and don't have permanent beds or spaces prepared I always have a temp bed to heel them in until I get their permanent space ready. I made this mistake my first year and lost many bushes (currants, elderberry, gooseberry, goji berry etc) and it was a sad thing so soon after that happened I began preparing loads of extra space for next Spring and it paid off so now I work to always have extra planting spaces available. Thanks for all your great videos!!
Thanks for sharing Huw! Enjoying your new book!
Hola, tenes vídeos en español?
I live in Belgium (Brussels) and I have a fairly large garden behind my house. I have just discovered your "channel" … I am realy interested in "raised bed" gardening … Having back problems, I wonder whether it would be possible to make my beds even higher than yours, so that I can "spare" hurting my poor back. I really love your channel and you look like a very kind person, which is of course an added bonus. Take care in these difficult days.
great video, looking forward to seeing more video.
I have Nasturtiums in my allotment and love the peppery taste in salads and the flowers add a lovely colourful element. Could you cover other edible flowers that are great for pollinators and for the plate? Chives are the only other I currently have it would be great to learn more.
Thank you for another inspiring video.
I love having an extra space because there are always exciting risks I want to take and if any of them pan-out, I have gifts to give to family, neighbors, friends, coworkers and strangers. I can't tell you how many times I've grown things thinking, "Maybe I'm wasting my time." But inevitabley there is always someone that comes along looking for or needing the excess growing in my garden :).
Hey, Huw lad – you're certainly knocking them out and they're all winners! Like the give away sentiment – hope I've got some surpluses. 'Giving away beds' not particularly easy with lock down. Maybe when the dust settles over Covid19.
Another good and innovative vid. Well done, bro'. – Paul
Great tips! What a nice guy you are!
This was such a positive, uplifting video – much needed these days.
I have a poly tunnel with 3 raised beds, they are the height of one timber plank approx 6'x3' .
What timber did you use to make yours, i want to get 2 for garden but not as expensive as the ones in poly tunnel.
I bought compost from garden centre that has added seaweed but I needed 6 bags per raised bed.
I have 6 tomato plants in one raised, the Money Maker variety they're producing trusses now.
I need to know is it too late to start courgettes cucumbers from seeds as I'm waiting in them yo arrive from a supplier.
I was given seeds of kale cabbages & beetroot April so planted them 3rd May they're seedlings now, so do these do better in an outside raised bed or can I keep them in poly tunnel.
What do you use to fill your beds, is it garden soil with anything particular added in
to fill the depth of your raised beds.
Thank you..
But Huw the spare space is now full, so isn't spare. I don't understand.
Yes! I have a million seedlings now and need homes for them. Going to try to give to my neighbors:-) Thanks Huw, ate my first spinach and kale yesterday…such a joy:-)
I’m attempting to do this with my perennial fruit. Grow them, divide them, spread them out into the world. Thank you for thinking of others, very considerate.
My 21 month old just enjoyed picking our mangetout for dinner tonight. Your videos have been so helpful! More veggies on the way
