Designer Emilia Wisniewski shares how she renovated a 100-year-old home while honoring its original character. Emilia enhanced the Edwardian’s intricate trimwork, high ceilings and pocket doors with more modern extras to create the perfect mix of traditional and contemporary style. You’ll fall in love with the home’s unexpected elements, like the botanical wallpaper on the ceiling and built-in shelves made of the home’s original door.

– Today, you’re going to embark on a journey into the world of Frontend Development! In doing so, you’re going to utilize HTML, CSS & a tiny bit of JavaScript to create an actual website layout that works on multiple devices (yes, it’s “Responsive”!). Throughout this course, I assume you have no experience building sites or apps — BUT, this is a *Crash Course*, which means we pack a LOT of content in a relatively short amount of time. The purpose of this course is to get your feet wet and determine if Frontend development might be right for you. You will get to see the full picture of what a Frontend developer does!

Who is Gary Simon? Well, I’m a full stack developer with 2+ decades experience and I teach people how to design and code. I’ve created around 100+ courses for big brands like LinkedIn, Lynda.com, Pluralsight and Envato Network.
Now, I focus all of my time and energy on this channel and my website Coursetro.com.
Come to my discord server or add me on social media and say Hi!
Very nice house! Would prefer the design without white-grey-black color combination though,- it evokes the associations with an office.
Love all the white.. what are the paint colors?
What color paint is on the walls?
So generally what I've learned from watching all of these H and H videos is that if you want to be a successful designer, you have to be pretty and thin.
My family has never had a TV in the public (living, dining, kitchen, etc.) rooms, it just kills conversation and family relationships. I own two fancy new TVs, but never got around to hooking them up; I’d rather read, listen to music, or watch YT, Netflix, or Amazon Prime on my iPad. Plus, I have a no-plastic rule for my decor, TVs must go in armoires or cabinets.
it is lucky to find a designer who understand my taste in decor that i still struggle to comprehend
Nice eclectic design mirrors mine. However, she needs to stop over using "amazing" as she begins to
sound a bit Valley Girl.
I hate to be mean but from a distance that looks like mould on the ceiling. A black print on the ceiling… awful
the ceiling in the dining room, is similar to my current living room where there is a decorated "panel" part for the lamp. made me to think if i would like to put up the wallpaper as well 🙂 Really a neat style
Love everything Emilia does she is 1 of the best designers on this channel.
Looks nothing Edwardian, boring and bland
Glad the client was pleased with the makeover, but not my cup of tea. I just don’t like that show-home look, where things look contrived and strategically placed to create The Look. I think a home should reflect the owner's personality and have character. As for that ceiling, yikes, no way.
Love the dining room chairs.
Emilia’s interiors are always so gorgeous. Restrained, elegant, soothing but comfortable and welcoming. I love her style.
Aaaamaaaazing
the ceiling looks like mold uuuugh
You are wonderful
I wish I could afford a professional designer. That would b so awesome! I love these home makeovers.
When in doubt rip it out and paint everything white white white white.
Hey all, 2020 is going to be huge here. I'm releasing several LARGE courses (the first one on Scrimba.com!) — So be sure to subscribe up for the ride! ALSO — If you are an absolute beginner to frontend development, expect to feel like you got hit by a truck after watching this video. But that's the purpose of a crash course, there's a LOT of info packed into a short amount of time. There's a reason why there are courses that are literally 10-20 hours long, on JUST HTML alone. But this course will really help you get a feel for what it's like to work as a frontend developer on a project you might encounter. Don't be discouraged if you still feel overwhelmed by the end of the course — that's to be expected. Keep on taking courses and tutorials though, and I guarantee you it will begin to click a little bit more each time!
An amazing thing to repeat what you already know and also add some knowledge! Thank you!
great work, keep it up
Thank you for all your work here. Well done.
Really amazing and describe the main points. I really love it.
Loved this course! Still feel intimidated by coding but this was a great way to get my feet wet.
the background is not working here pls somebody help… i've tried copying the code to my visual studio but the page does not look like the actual project on the video :c
I love VS Code but for front end development I would use Atom, just an opinion, but I loved the tutorial!
I was told that you don't need the DOCTYPE tag anymore with HTML5. is that true?
Definitely not for BEGINNERS. Be warned my boys/girls who are trying to get a grasp of html from a non-computer science background.
I have a huge crush on you.. I love your voice. I learnt a lot. thank you for making this video . your the best
watching in 2021
My images/food folder doesn't work, It keep's saying an error has occurred while loading this image, so when I go on live server to view the document the image isn't there.
Great video! I would love you to go into BEM naming conventions. Ideally, you can't just name "whatever' you want =)
"YOU GONNA BE GOOGLING LIKE CRAZY" _ Gary simon_ hahahah
Hi, I was having a nightmare time with CSS (i'm currently working with a Flask webapp). This is awesome, you are an outstanding teacher. Thank you so much!!
Luckily I'm not a complete noob…but this still hit like a car nearly swiping me on a crosswalk lol. Lot of familiar elements explained in an even simpler way; really like how you tackled it and the energy towards introducing so many different but crucial keys to skeleton construction. Not as overwhelming as it could have been…I feel more confident now than I did a day ago, for sure!
Thank you so much for the tutorial, the first tutorial that I've watched from beginning to end very helpful!
Is there a reason why my href needs to me "/css/file.css" rather than "css/file.css" ? Without the fwd slash before css I get errors and it does not load (not a huge deal, just don't understand why).
