Originally recorded May 20, 2014. If you have green spots on your pool walls due to algae, and hate brushing them because it doesn’t work so well, follow this tip! Use a regular, ordinary towel to wipe down the walls once in the pool. The green washes out of the towel when it is laundered as usual. Actually, that's a brilliant idea in its simplicity. I could relate to the awkwardness of trying to brush the algae off the walls of the pool. That's it! Just hop in the pool with a towel. But, the REAL question that needs to be asked is: Why did the algae form on the walls in the first place? Because, if you don't address that problem, you'll be back in the pool with your towel again and again and again. But, I'm sure that goes without saying. The point of your "life hack" was not pool chemistry – but simply removing the algae from the walls. THEN you can properly chemical your pool. I was thinking of filling my pool with pure Clorox. That should solve my algae problem but it would probably be a little hard on the eyes. IDEA! Simply swim with your eyes closed. Problem solved!

Won't the algae that's now floating in the pool just settle back on the pool sides/bottom once you've 'cleaned' it w/a towel?

Great video! …What about algae that grows solid between tiles? They form a hard layer that is very time consuming to individually remove between every tile. Any idea for those – other than "don't let them grow i the first place"? Other than this, my pool is very clear.
