Ok, it started just to see if the hybrid system would support growth in the net cups between the tomatoes. Not only did it, but I managed to produce Buttercrunch Lettuce and Pak Choi to full maturity in temps well above 100° F in the greenhouse for weeks! The little I’ve done with growing lettuce in my past gardens almost always led to bolting and/or bitterness well before maturity. I mean, it was my fault as I was primarily a spring/summer gardener. Now, I’ve eaten many salads and harvested the first of the Pak Choi. I’m impressed by my new greenhouse and how things are coming along. I love chatting with folks and answering questions. A little about my setup. I have a hydroponic greenhouse. I grow in a system I call FAWN which is a modified hydroponic drip system. The media I grow in is aged rice hulls with parboiled rice hulls mixed. This has proven to be a great mix for me. I use Masterblend fertilizer as my nutrients to every plant grown. I’ve been pretty successful with my setup growing hydroponic tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, squash, cucumbers, cabbage, cauliflower, lettuce, turnip greens, corn, potatoes, kale, carrots, beets, spinach, onions, leeks, and even okra! Everything a gardener would desire. I also dabble in other areas like growing in raised beds, growing in a ground garden, grafting, pond activities, growing fruits, and other projects on the homestead.

This is my greenhouse grow of dragon’s tongue beans and the first harvest as well. So, this is my most successful attempt at hydroponic beans growing in the greenhouse and I’m super pleased with how it turned out.
