The Indonesia Palm Oil Development for Smallholders (IPODS) programme is a Musim Mas partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). It serves to support independent smallholders in meeting the same efficient farming standards as those adopted by large palm oil organisations. Through the programme Musim Mas provides smallholders with agronomic training, financial support and access to global markets.
Having started with just 539 smallholders at one of our subsidiaries in 2015, the IPODS programme has now been extended to three other mills in Riau. As at 31 December 2017, the programme benefits 9,652 smallholders in total.
By 2020, IPODS aims to have 12,000 smallholders registered under IPODS, and to have built the capacity for 2,000 smallholders to be certifiable under RSPO, ISPO and ISCC.
