This cute little wall art planter made from popsicle ice lolly sticks, pva glue, copper wire, a 2p piece, 2 copper steam punk cog charms, some thick black plastic (an eBay postage bag) and a piece of string is then stuffed with sphagnum moss as a planting medium, and planted up with rooted succulent cuttings. You can use hot glue or PVA glue to help attach the succulents and get them to stay put – but I like creating a tight web of copper wire to hold the moss and roots in place, and using well rooted cuttings. I then leave it flat or slanted for a few days to a week, so that gravity keeps the cuttings in place while they root in properly. Mist the moss every week to keep it touch moist but not dripping/sodden. Rehome or thin out the succulents once they start to outgrow the planter – which should be at least 3 months away as they grow less quickly when packed in tightly.
