Doktor Doom wins!!
good, that sticky traps are mentioned first, but why all the awfull chemicals? those should really only be the last resort, if anything else fails. a little garlic powder sprinkled on the soil, every few weeks, prevents and cures moldy soil and deters many pests already. neem is a very effective natual pesticide and deterrent, but harmless to mammals. this is more of an advertising for poisons, than good advice. :/
Misting does not affect the humidity unless you're doing it every 15 minutes.
Spritzing weekly, however, does show up any webbing, so you can promptly treat mites. Simple soap spray ( 1 tsp/pint water) used weekly for 4 weeks works just as well as miticide chemicals. Make sure to spray the underside of leaves, and down into leaf axils.
Fungus gnats – Shouldn't sticky traps be on soil surface? Also, larvae feed on decaying organic matter, not roots.
