I Built this little indoor Hydroponic Herb Tower to grow some fresh herbs in a sunny spot in my kitchen. It is made from a 80mm upright pipe sitting in a container filled with nutrient solution. I drilled holes in the sides and mounted 50mm swimming pool pipe elbows to create the grow area. I fitted a plastic grid over the back of the elbows and filled it with clay pellets as a grow medium.
A small fish tank pump circulates the water to the top of the unit and it runs down the centre of the pipe over the plants roots. The elbows are mounted at a slight angle so that we have a small water reservoir building up in each elbow.
Lets see how it works…
