Today I toured indoor farming start-up Precede in Singapore, to see how they grow high quality fresh basil, kale, spinach, radishes, bok choy and other plants in a hydroponic style with minimal water and soil and zero pesticides. I also got the chance to taste several of the crisp and delicious greens, with the rocket (arugula) and wasabi greens being two of my favorites in addition to the peppery basil. This is the bright and exciting future of food security and quality in big cities, especially those like Singapore that have long relied on imported food and need to regain the capacity to eat local. This farm is also an excellent example of a business investment that literally turns over assets every few weeks.
