I BEGIN MY 2ND GARDEN | Jake Mace OFF GRID. WELCOME TO BLACK FISH HOLLOW (Max’inux in Kwak’walan) #garden #gardening #offgrid #permaculture #backyardgarden

For over nearly 10 years I grew a fruit tree, permaculture, garden, and native edible plant, herb, and raised bed garden food forest. You can still watch all the garden videos of my old desert garden in Arizona. I was born in British Columbia and I have returned to the Rain Forests of British Columbia to a “Raw Land” property to grow my 1st FULL EDIBLE FOOD FOREST Off Grid on a wilderness property. This climate is temperate and coastal, rarely seeing snow in the winter and highs in the 80’s (30 Celsius) in the summer. It is a rare microclimate that spans from gardening zone 7-9. The property is 8 acres and completely overgrown, mostly with conifer trees. This area is a verifiable rain forest and situated in the Southwestern-most tip of the Canadian “Great Bear Rain Forest”. NicHolistic (http://www.YouTube.com/HolisticNicole) and I will be learning about edible seaweeds, edible native plants, edible mushrooms, and many other edible native trees/plants as we attempt to Build a Yurt, Draw Our Energy Clean, Live Off the Grid, and Grow an Epic Superfoods Garden and Fruit Tree Orchard. We will also have a lot of changes coming so get ready. More videos and BTS Clips at my VLOG channel http://www.YouTube.com/AdventuresWJakeNicole

Jake, it seems that you have not been privy to some info that if you knew it you would know that Christians know what happens when they die. I am not talking about nominal Christians, I am talking about committed Christians. I do not know if you have ever seen a truly committed Christian die. We die in peace. People who do not know what is going to happen to them when they die have turmoil when they are dying but truly committed Christians do not. Again, the whole reason is, we know where we will be going. It isn't to Heaven right away but it is to rest until Jesus comes. Of course we do not know how much time passes so for those who die the time between dying and Jesus coming again is instantaneous. I feel sorry for people who are wondering what happens next or worry or get anxious and upset when they are dying. For a true Christian, none of that happens because we know who is coming to take us home, where we are going and how long we are going to spend there. I hope that you will have the opportunity to find this out too. It is right there waiting for you. All you have to do is accept it.

    Hi there,
Jake, I envy your disire to live off the grid, but if someone has the resources and funds available to pursue a urbanized lifestyle, how can he find the right motivation to live off grid. In my country there are many beautiful places to convert them into summer retreat

Jake, what you were saying in the beginning about dying with nature rings truth. Your goals are awesome. As for death, my beliefs are that I don't fear dying, but I don't want it to be painful. My beliefs are that I know what's on the other side. I've seen your yurt and the whole process, and I'm delighted to see what you and Nicole accomplished together!!! I won't say any spoilers here. You both are awesome people and no one should say stupid things…if they don't like what you are doing, they ought not come to your vlog!!! Best wishes.

You are living my dream. I want to live in Canada. My husband wouldn't build the straw bale house, but I did convince him to take a house building course and we built a house. I would really encourage you to consider getting some whether goats and sheep to help clear your land. They will eat up brush , are great companions and will fertilize your garden. They are pretty cheap labor. I had sheep for years- a rescue flock. My last ewe had to be put down at the age of 18. The one thing about sheep is they need to be shorn in the spring, but it isn't hard. Maybe your climate wouldn't be good for a wooly animal- i don't know- then again Ireland is rainy and they have lots of sheep… I know you are vegetarian, but they can be great allies in the vegetarian homestead. I am too. I learned to spin and felt and it has paid for the hot water and electric bills, as well as kept me warm with my own renewable materials mittens and hats. Goats are browsers, don't need any shearing but they are also nimbler, and harder to keep in fences. I do have a friend who is an expert on feeding goats on forest forage. She has her goats out with her and they are trained to leave apple trees alone. If you don't want the ownership, maybe a local shepherd would come. They use them to keep the land under power lines clear. I have cherries, apples, wold plums and lots of vegetables. I saw your desert garden, can't wait to see the rain forest garden.
We used a sawdust toilet when we were building. I would have kept using it but my husband would not.
So glad to find you again.

I see all those down trees in the background. Have you considered hugelkulture, or using them for making raised beds?

Life after death! We come from Consciousness and return to the same. Remember that all our images are created by the brain coming to us as electro-magnetic energy, then translated in images. You are the artist of your life and being creative is the best preparation for the afterlife.

if you cut wood in one area you have your shavings for compost , even a wood chipper if you find in years to come can be very usefull to clian up the smallet twigs sticks new growth your clearing to get the most out of things . are you thinking of raising milk cows ?even goats , think about that i know thats alot of work , clearing area for them to live raise feed or just have meadow for them . have to have a bull n breed them every few years to keep milk flowing but can sell the offspring unless yo change to eat meat . and if you make alot of cheese that you cant eat its a good source of cash to help out cant go wrong raising animals they can do so much for a homestead .
