Hydroponics growing system: How to build a homemade DIY Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system

Hydroponics growing system: How to build a homemade DIY Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system. There are many forms of hydroponics growing systems out there. This video will show you step by step how to build a Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system. Hydroponics makes indoor gardening really easy. This is the first Hydroponics system that I built. the parts are easy and cheap to find. This is a DIY DWC growing system, Also known as Deep Water Culture. If you are looking for step by step video instruction on how to build a hydroponics growing system then you have found it.

Deep Water Culture or DWC is a system where the roots are suspended in a nutrient solution. This method uses a air stone to oxygenate the nutrient solution and keep the plants from drowning. Once the nutrient solution is sufficiently oxygenated, the plant roots can remain submerged indefinitely. The growing plants have their roots suspended in a deep water growth chamber receive excellent aeration and a moist environment. This is where the name Deep Water Culture or DWC comes from. Once the plants begin to flower, the level of the nutrient solution is gradually reduced. This will expose the roots to even more oxygen. The deep water culture method will lead to rapid growth because, the plants roots can absorb large amounts of oxygen and nutrients at the sametime.

Another distinct advantage of Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system over other hydroponics growing systems is the cost. All you need to get started is:

Plastic tote
Net pots .50 each
Hydroton .00
Air pump and stone
Nutrient Solution but will last you 4 to 6 months

Total for this system including all the Nutrient Solution

This makes a Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system one of the cheapest most economical to build. I suggest this a Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system for all beginners and believe it to be the best for growing lettuce. That said, I have grown tomatoes, basil, dill, peppers, and even mellon quite successfully in this system. This Deep Water Culture or DWC growing system make indoor growing simple and fun.

What is hydroponics?
Hydroponics is a soilless growing technique were growing of plants are placed into a system that delivers nutrient rich water directly to the roots. Instead of soil, Plants are often supported by an inert substrate such as rockwool, hydroton, coconut coir, and many others. A flood and drain, mist, or air stone provides oxygen to the root system to keep the plants from drowning. A hydroponics growing systems success is based on the fine control of the environment. This makes a hydroponics growing system perfect for growing indoors as well as outdoors.

I’m a gardener. Why should I care about hydroponics?
Like most you, I enjoy traditional gardening outside in the soil and sun. Then with the fall all of the outdoor fun ends and the long cold wait to spring begins. With the use of a hydroponics growing system you can grow year round. This has become very important to modern farmers and gardeners. Using hydroponics we have complete control over our seasons and plants. Out in the fields many factors affect how plants are grown. Perfect quality soil is difficult to find and even harder to maintain. We have to deal with contamination, weeds, pests and biological imbalances. For a plant to receive a well balanced diet, everything in the soil must be in perfect But with hydroponics, water is enriched with a perfectly balanced nutrient. The hydroponic nutrient solution is also contained so little is lost to evaporation, therefore, less water is needed and wasted.
Each day, more facts are learned about hydroponics, and it is easyer then ever to start your year round vegetable garden with a little help from my blog http://www.getforked.ca .

You should use smaller holes for your net pots when you plants start to grow they will get heavy and the hole plant with the pot will go I the water, also yo should use a black bin or bucket, light will go in and then you get alge, last to many pots will be over crowded when plants start to grow the plants start to battle for dominance at the root, the stronger plants start to choke the weaker plants.?

interesting points ,if anyone else needs to find out about aquaponics at home try Tarbetti Amazing Aquaponics Tutor (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy got amazing results with it.?

Just a note to anyone who is going to try this, dont put 8 baskets in that small amount of space, all of your roots are going to tangle and significantly lessen your yield, "someone" has the same size reservoir with only 2 plants and is expected to get at least 3 zips off each plant, this guy will probably get like 3/4 of a zip off each plant and need way more lighting than he should!?

Just thought I should point out that you are using "Net Pots" not "Netti Pots"… Netti Pots are for cleaning your sinuses… Something completely unrelated ;-)?

    Thanks for the video.
The downside of hydroponics is you need to purchase "plant food" or nutrients and supplements which can be pricey. Aquaponics brings together the most effective elements of Hydroponics And Aquaculture which means lower cost and enhance work productivity

yep thats correct. when you do penny stock trading get good suggestions from professionals is the wise idea. its not a joke, my father making lots from penny stocks with the help of these professionals. have a try and make the most of them 🙂 >> bit.ly/18142ea?=ddqvle

    Thank you for the movie.
Also I have some tips to grows up to 10 times the plants, in half time, with more healthy plants, while the "fish" carry out all the work…

how long do i leave the pump on during dwc hydroponics? i was experimenting with marigold flowers and got positive results. I had it running 12 hours on, when lights were on. and then at night, for 12 hours i wouldn't run it when the lights were off. i was using a regular aquarium air pump and it seemed to work really well.
