I have two plants that didn’t seem to be growing as the rest of the others. After six weeks in the cups, they remained about an inch tall while all the other plants have taken off. I decided to use these subjects for experiments.

The experiment took six weeks. The nutrients really helped the plants grow like crazy. They are now really big and healthy.

Khang, I'm thinking about trying Kratky method with some of my peppers. I have a few small dwc setups going now, but I do like the idea of set and forget (at least for a short while) with the non-circulating method. Have you tried moving any that have been growing this way into a potting mix type medium? If so, how did they do, and was there anything you needed to do first?

Good video, but I would argue that the volume of the growing medium for the plant in soil is too little to encompass the roots needed for soil growth. In this you are biasing the outcome of the study. That is one of the many benefits of hydroponics. You can develop a complex root system in quarter of the space. I would recommend trying the study again and placing the plant growing in soil into a larger pot. I think you may find that the it's growth will do much better that way. It may not grow as fast as the hydroponic plant though, but it will do better than it did in the red cup.

sir found me some master 4-18-38 blend in our country but the mixture is already it is 12 grams master blend
    12 calcium nitrate
and 6 grams Magnesium sulfide for 5 galons is it a ok formula or is it better if i add maybe 8 grams of epsom salt??

I have purchased General Hydroponics Grow bloom and micro and stated my first hyrdoponic home gardening. But I am highly nterested to learn about Masterblend, buy never understand clearly. Can you please give clear and simple instruction hot to make it.
    Thanks Khang.

Thank very informative video,I would like to request if you can do a video of 2 Hydroponic systems but one with a CO2 injection enclosed system to see if there much of difference and if there any difference in produce taste

Hi, thanks for the great videos! I've got one question: How often do you change the nutrientwater for the plant, and do you do it more often, when it gets bigger and bigger?

Its obvious the hydro plant has more room for roots the soil has much less room i would imagine that plays a major factor plus judging by how dry your soil is im guessing low humidity is slowing growth also.

as you shown on the video that you put the plant inside the house by the window to get some light. can i also put them outside when the weather is nice?

Hi, Khang! Thank you so much for your videos! I find them really educational and inspirational. I have a question, do you notice any difference between using the masterblend and general hydroponics for kratky method ?

  • Jason Sutter

you should add an airstone or a air source to the hydro set up. adding oxygen to the roots will make your plants grow exponentially more. That would turn it into a DWC set up.
