This is so easy and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you.
how i maintain oxygen in glass. oxygen necessary or not because in other method we install air pump in water.
What's with most gardeners and one handed videos? not very professional
Did you presoaked your hydroton or just rinsed?
what happens if you don't transplant and grow the seed directly in the bigger container
Great video! I tend to start seeds in seed starter mix or coco, then when the seedling gets its true leaves, I carefully pull out the plant and wash off the roots. Then thread the roots through a net cup and put into nutes in a mason jar. I use hydroton to hold the plant up in net cup and block out light. This seems to work well so you never have rockwool rotting or coco falling into the water. All methods seem to work though and all a matter of preference. Love Kratky !
This is amazing I already have hydroton and coco coir I'm going to give this a try as I don't want to use rockwool anymore for the reasons you outlined. Thanks for the thorough guide, you have a new subscriber!
It was really very informative. The only thing i want to ask is that the water level reaches the clay pebbles instead of coco peat. How will it reach the roots?
have you done this method for peppers, how big of a resevoir should you have
Ur voice sounds lazy asf
Just because you can't see algae on the coco coir doesn't mean there isn't any. It's just you can't see it in the darker material.
What is the percentage and what all is used as plant food.
talk too much ????????????????
I'm transplanting eight plants (lettuces, chard, catnip) from double cup to their mason jars today. Needed to watch your video again to be sure of best way to do this. Thank you so much. I'm excited about growing this way.
Awesome video!
You fill the jar with nutrient solution above the bottom of the net cup. Then how does air get to the roots – can it penetrate the coco coir ? Please educate me.
Nice love how you do that definitely gonna try this only need now left is waiting for the Fertilizer, Ph Meter: and Coco Coir, Is CoCo Peat Coir Fiber the same as FibreDust Coco Coir ? http://tinyurl.com/n3ch8oo sad to hear that amazon usually ships within 1 to 2 months :-/ but dang the Coco Coir look much better than soil or potting mix
So glad I saw your video before going with the rockwool. I live in Arizona and planting outdoors is futile. The plants struggle through the hot summers. I have herbs indoors now under grow lights but want to grow lettuces, spinach and chard hydroponically. I enjoyed your video. Thank you. Will use your links to buy pebbles and baskets.
Very good video, I never even heard of Coco Coir before. Thanks for the great info* I am enjoying your videos
deezie
Cool video, thanks. Hey I got cucamelon seeds from rareseeds.com, and using the paper towel method on a heating pad I got like 75% germination in 48 hours. Crazy! Question: would you recommend coco coir as an indoor grow medium for my cucamelons? Another option is a peat moss pellet. I just want to get them started up to one set of true leaves indoors, then in a few weeks I'll harden them off and plant them in soil outside. Thoughts?
