ABOUT THE FLOWER
Salvia is the largest genus of plants in the mint family, Lamiaceae, with nearly 1000 species of shrubs, herbaceous perennials, and annuals. Within the Lamiaceae, Salvia is part of the tribe Mentheae within the subfamily Nepetoideae. It is one of several genera commonly referred to as sage, it includes the widely produced herb used in cooking, Salvia officinalis (common sage, or just “sage”).
The genus is distributed throughout the Old World and the Americas, with three distinct regions of diversity Central and South America (approx. 500 species); Central Asia and Mediterranean (250 species); Eastern Asia (90 species)
Hydroponics is a subset of hydroculture, which is a method of growing plants without soil by using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent.Terrestrial plants may be grown with only their roots exposed to the mineral solution, or the roots may be supported by an inert medium, such as perlite or gravel.
The nutrients used in hydroponic systems can come from an array of different sources; these can include, but are not limited to, byproduct from fish waste, duck manure, or purchased chemical fertilizers. for this video I have used chemical fertilizers.
