In this video , I show you how I do the valleys on a shingle roof.
Many roofers cut the shingles across because they say it’s safer .
no one of this affirmations are true…Remember …it’s not about the materials …
It’s the craft man doing the work !
Greetings and hope you like it !

Good work macho!
You supposed to add one eighth of an inch per foot going down the valley to that sock line so that you have created a wider Channel at the bottom is what per manufacturer pabco Premier shingles advises what do you think you're a really excellent roofer by the way I just want to tell you that
im a roofer never seen this style on shingles . great job
Le quedo cercas los enpates del vale
I don't like it for two reasons. One being capillary action will take rainwater under the shingles and second it looks a mess
I use the same system here in Seattle. It works just fine, I never had a leaky roof.
Hi Eric! Question, my old landlady's hack of a son put 4 layers of shingles on an apartment building that's well over a hundred years old. Is this safe, legal and correct? Plus he hasn't finished the job, its been going on for 4 years now with staging still up! What does everyone think about a man in his 50' s who does this to his 80 year old mom? I think the building is 150 yrs. old.
your 3rd shingle up by the Valley is Seam on Seam. cut it back.
I am not a roofer but to me makes more sense to cover the valley with full shingles.
Thank you for sharing bro!
any big amount of rain and wind. water would back up into this valley
Awesome video. I am going to try your method tomorrow. Looks like it leaves a real clean look. Thanks again for sharing some wisdom.
los stares van encima el uno del otro…para q el agua circule…
This may work for sunny California but it would cause big problems anywhere with snow,
Bad idea in snowy/rainy climate. Probably O.K. where dry but I highly doubt it meets mfg. specs. Water will stay in gaps on valley roofing that's place "sideways" and eventually damage/lift it especially when it freezes + get into the nails easier. Gaps need to run down hill as straight as possible just like every other shingle on the roof and you need to cut small 45 degree corner off each shingle on top in valley to release water. Glue the seam a couple inches inboard. I'm from the frozen north, though. Good video, thanks for doing it – just my opinion and I could be totally wrong.
Safety's first !!!!
Very helpful. Thanks. That guy had his back so close to the edge!! Made me nervous just watching! That's roofing. Stay safe.
Great video will definitely use this awesome method on next full install
gotta cover the whole starter shingle. I've replaced many valleys people have done this way because it leaves too much space for water
If you want to make it too just use InpliX handbooks.
This is a terrible video, sloppy looking work.
