Step by Step Instructions on how to trellis squash. Items I purchased at home depot: -(2) 10′ PVC pipes 1/2 inch thick ( each) – at home depot they will cut PVC for you, have them cut one pipe into two 5′ pieces and cut the other into an 8′ and 2′ piece (you won’t use the 2′ piece) -2 1/2 inch 90 degree street elbow connectors (75 cents each) -Plumbing tape aka teflon tape (75 cents for a roll) -nylon netting 5′ x 8′ (I found this in the gardening section outside near the other trellis items) .50 -(2) 4′ rebars ( each) Total cost = .75 This trellis can be reused season after season and can be used for things like cucumbers, sugar snap peas, tomatoes, etc. Video Rating: / 5 Related PostsBuilding An Arched Garden Trellis For Our SquashBottle Gourd growing on trellis – Opo SquashHow to Grow Spaghetti Squash on a TrellisButternut Squash Growing Tips and 4 Ways to Trellis ItGrowing Vertically | Training Vines to Climb a Trellis | Grow Squash Vertically | Garden Quick TipsTraining Cucumbers or Squash to Climb a Trellis – Trellising 101.

I use a very similar system for cucumbers and it works very well. Nicely done.?

Driving the rebar into the ground and slipping the pvc over it to be held in place is genius. I have bits of leftover rebar that are too short to use as plant support but they are easy to drive into the ground. Also have bits of leftover pvc that are long enough to use as trellis/stake but too difficult to drive into the ground without digging a hole. Thanks!?
