How to build a wall garden that is sustainable, green, and eco-friendly utilizing post-consumer recycled wall pockets called a “Wally” from the Woolly Pocket company. Find more information and ideas on green living with Shawna Coronado at *Note — Because the FTC requires it, I am noting that Woolly Pocket sponsored the Wally garden pockets. Organic Mechanics Soil sponsored the soil used for this project. Botanical Interests supplied the seeds and Burpee Home Gardens supplied the plants. However, I would use these products even if they had not been sponsored — I like the them. Video Rating: / 5 If you enjoyed the video, please hit the LIKE button! It really helps! I disagree. The fence is a standard fence with cement posts. It has supported this wall garden for 3 years with absolutely no problem.

I wish I had enough extra shovels to just drill them into the wall. Must be a pain taking all those screws out every time you need to dig a hole!

  • Shawna Coronado 1 year ago

::laughing:: I didn't want the color to be covered up, I wanted it to show like art on the wall. If you go to my garden blog spot and search "woolly pocket" you can see the final product.

They should have made that Wally a natural color, like brown or tan. Blue? Yuck. It will take forever for the plants to cover it up.

    come play in my garden

@Hillad42 Thanks!! Add rotted manure and compost to your soil – at least 2" to 3" if you are able. Then dig it in. It should be much easier to work with after that. About your concern for wall damage. I'd suggest you go to the manufacturer and ask that question directly. You can find them at woollypocket-dot-com. Best of luck to you!

I love your blog and vids! You've given me hope that this year I will be successful. Question for you-I'm hoping to make my company's site green with inside vertical gardening. But how do I avoid water damage to our walls? I love the concept but I need to have all info in tow to present to my higher ups. What do you recommend? Also, I am starting on my own garden but my ground is very hard and sandy. What do you recommend to get the ground ready for gardening?

Wow, great colors, and great inspiration for a new Sunday Morning. Thanks, Shawna.

@OrganicTexas It is about 20 pounds per pocket. Not too heavy for the fence. Perfect!

  • OrganicTexas 1 year ago

How heavy does it get? Seems like it could do some damage to the fence once its fully loaded?

@CooksGarden I built a big collection over many years of gardening. When they all started rusting, I decided to paint them and do something interesting with them. 🙂

That is so cool – and decorative, too! Where did all the shovels come from? Garage Sails? I love the idea

  • Shawna Coronado 1 year ago

@gardenbytom Go for it – good luck!

@loislaney23 They DO – they come in Black, Brown (Chocolate), and Blue (Peacock Blue). Lovely colors for subtlety or brightness!

  • Lois Laney 1 year ago

Very nice, do they come in different colors?

OTGW Had me lost beyond words. The art styles, The setting, the music, The characters; It was all beautiful. I Instantly fell in love with the second episode, Because I'm a sucker for autumn. It all went up from there. Cartoon Network knows what their doing, With most of their shows at least.

Wow! This was astounding. I don't know if this was intentional, but something I noticed was that certain parts of the song stick to a peculiar theme and the corresponding episodes(s). For instance, the calmer part of the song that mentions the death of a tree, as well as the clips from episode 10. It gave it a very nice touch and provided the icing on the cake for me. =)
