I prefer to use pantyhose it helps to support the fruit and it breathes better than cotton does. My wife gets so mad at me lmbo for using them she says i have a pantyhose fetish lol.

Your videos have been my go to guide for everything gardening! Anytime I have a qualm I always reach for my phone and finger jab my google search bar,click clack my issue into the keyboard and am usually met with results that are either conflicting &/or biased or content thats completely unrelated ..its like the worst therapy session you can imagine .. Unless my qualm is a gardening woe.. In which case I type my issue like normal but add "calikim" at the end and I'm met with success each&every time! So thank you for that! However I have a more specific type of question I'm hoping you can help me with..I know you said watermelons love hot weather and 70-90° is best but what about when the weather is consistently in the triple digits. Like 108-112° for several weeks straight.. Is this too much heat? Should I be providing them with more shaded time rather than the full sun like recommended? Because in my experience, plants that claim to require full sun or a minimum of 8hrs of direct sunlight each day have actually withered to near demise when I complied with that suggestion. Even my aloe couldn't seem to handle it. My watermelons are just staring to grow now and I want to get your feedback before I transplant them into their permanent home pot (my diy version of a smart pot made from landscape fabric-not to toot my own horn but beep *beep*! Proud of myself for that one!)I want them to have the best chance cuz this year I want some edible watermelons damn it! Last year was an epic failure in all aspects except for my peppers& cucumbers which I thought turned out fantastic! The cucumbers were actually super sweet but I was told that could be why my watermelons and cantelopes were not as I planted them all right next to one another..along with eggplant, corn, 3 tomato varieties, &3 pepper varieties. Did i mention it was my very first garden EVER? I couldn't decide so I was like screw it, let's do this! Plant them all! My tomatoes actually weren't bad but my god I couldn't contain them! I couldn't eat or give enough away to even make a dent in the yield. They just kept coming! And then they got a massive webby spider mite what seemed like over night that I wasn't able to erradicate..but it was towards the end of the season anyway so I just dug everything up &figured I'd try again next year! Fast forward to next year and I have a stupid gopher that refuses to leave and I refuse to kill.. Hence the growing watermelon in pots. I'm determined to have edible ones this year! Last year they were awful! I over watered,under fed(I actually didnt feed at all lol) and I kept flipping the watermelons over ignorantly believing this to be a good thing lol. The garden was basically an epic fail so I decided this year just try 1 or 2 things MAX. lol I'll be damned if I'm going to allow myself to flub it up this year and I believe youre going to be my secret weapon against what I call the garden ghouls..an invisible monster that destroys gardens..cuz I like being able to put the blame on something else instead of my own lack of knowledge and thats the best I could come up with lol

Awesome instructions for growing watermelons. I’m leaning towards growing in a grow bag and have the vines go vertically. I am growing Sugar Baby. I’ve heard people say that watermelon grow best and tastes sweeter and better on the ground. But yours from the trellis looked delicious. Thanks again for the videos. Very informative.
