I grew only one zucchini plant that grew very big with huge leaves but I only got one zucchini out of it which I harvested a week ago at 8 inches in length. I'm afraid I didn't leave enough to space around it because I planted tomato plant and squash plant 2 feet away but zucchini plants spread out too much. The problem is I'm not getting anymore zucchini out of it. My plant and leaves looks even bigger than yours but only one zucchini came out from it. Yesterday I cut out one male flower to encourage more female flowers. There was only one female flower blooming and the one male flower that I cut out and tried to fertilize with it. How can I get more flowers and zucchini out if it?

Your video is really good. Thanks for sharing. First time trying a patio zucchini garden. It started out really good but I think I could be watering too much. I am getting a lot of zucchini started but then it starts turning yellow at the end and seems to stop growing. I am in Arizona and its very hot here. I have moved the plant to get additional shade in the heat of the day… Also some of the leaves are dying and I remove them. Any advise you can provide will be appreciated.

I get tons of male flowers and not enough females! My zucchini, patty pans and crook necks are all in containers on my deck…. do I need to "assist" the male flowers with pollination of the female flowers? some of my potential fruits shrivel up and die, which I thought was blossom rot. I added a fertilizer which really helped growth and produced a bunch of….. boy blossoms. (which taste great) I watched a video on Luke's channel where he diddled boy and girl flowers on his cucumbers…. do I need to do that with my squash plants?

Loved this video Kim! Thanks so much for all the growing tips. I love summer squash and I make many things with it including oven roasting it with herbs…..my favorite. Your wild flowers are beautiful by the way!

Great Video!!. Thank you. My wife and I garden in (usually) high heat. Does Squash need a lot of water to produce a lot of fruit? Someone wondered how to keep the dreaded SQUASH BUG away; I spray the grown plants and surroundings with a light mix of dish liquid and water (this kills the bug and, I have proved it. LOL) * I do not know if this (repels)the Box Elder Bug.** Be easy with the soap and water on (tomato plants) ~ My garden seems to drain well yet holds water fine. I still wonder IF squash LIKES a lot of H2O. Thanks again.

You never mention what to look for when your squash plant seems to die overnight….it's because the dreaded SVB has burrowed a hole into the plant at the base……it you spray the plant with BT weekly from early July thru early Aug, you will stop this from happening……
