Bush beans are my favorite style of bean due to the versatility you have in how you choose to grow them. They also work well in small apartment or urban gardens as you can cram a ton of green beans in a vertical system, or even grow them in containers.
As we continue in our gardening for beginners videos, I think learning how to grow beans is a great foray into a more ‘complex’ plant than leafy greens or herbs, but without upping the difficulty too much.

Oh you've BEAN in the bean world!?
Seen beans look wilted throughout and yellow above bottom row of the tower. Spider mites like the dry. Possibly why their attack was near the top. That tower may need a deterrent to the gravity of the water
What about growing shelling type bush beans like chickpeas in a vertical system? I am starting to look into beans before spring here in Australia
Can you do the same things with edamame beans? I live in Zone 9A. Thanks!! Cheers.
35 beans x
Kevin thank you for these videos. I would love to buy an apron that is cruelty-free. Do you have one with faux leather or another material?
Can you grow this way with pole beans instead of bush beans? I'm already growing pole beans in the garden and have a ton of leftover seeds I'd like to use.
Have you ever heard of the garden tower 2? I would love to see you talk about that type of vertical garden
Is there a way to plant beans indoors using grow lights? I live in an apt with no yard so I'm planting everything indoors.
Hi Kevin. I’m a new follower and relatively new gardener. I’ve been binge watching your videos lately and you got my butt off the couch to finally set up my compost bin. It had been shoved into the corner of my yard from when I moved in (3 years ago…)
My question is for my current new project of bush beans. I’ve never planted them before and the seeds were given to me by my father-in-law so I don’t know what variety they are. I’ve ordered a set of 5, 10-gallon grow bags and am planning on transferring them in. I was eyeing a tower but the price was a bit too much for me currently. Anyways, how many can a plant in each bag without them being overcrowded. Just 2 plants or could I manage 3?
Recently, I bought a Tower Garden. I think I'm going to plant beans in it.
I had guess 30 beans!!! How neat. These are great tips
Naybe 25 or more
I really enjoyed the progression in the same video! 33 is a master number 🙂
did you make the vertical system or did you buy it? if you where did you buy it?
How many plants did you put in each pocket on the vertical garden? Just one plug?
Hey? How did i get UNSUBSCRIBED???
What are some other plants that would do well in a vertical tower? What can you mix and match? I just bought one, and want to maximize it's use. Thanks!
I just received my Garden Stalk and I'm excited to grow beans. I have a few different kinds of bean seeds. Do you have any plans to make more videos about growing in this system? Curious about organizing different types of plants in it.
