This is part one of the build where I basically go over what I’m trying to build, go over the general list of supplies ( which will be available below) and essentially the beginning of the project with having to make our own dry box The dry box is so that I can run my power outside in one central location, and since I don’t have any outlets outside I have to run the main power into my outlet in my bedroom – SO you can skip this step if you are doing this inside, or have the appropriate power supplies needed to make your “growing” demands 😛 But I should also mention I got LUCKY last year with the Hydroponic NFT Rail system I built video : running only one pump and no proper coverage of protecting the equipment – no power issues and like i said….i got lucky – SO this does serve a great purpose if you’re going to be hydroponically growing outside and need to protect your equipment…..this Dry box take just a few minutes to make and shouldn’t be overlooked! not only does it serve to protect my power supply, but since I’m using an air pump for this new RWDC system, I’ll need to protect that as well! enjoy the video and be on the lookout for the next installments of this build and grow over the coming weeks ! list of supplies for today’s build or also at my store: Tote for dry box: power : uniseals – id say minimum 12 i used 15 in this build 3 went on the dry box: air pump: air line 100ft: air stones : big reservoir: water pump: 1 inch PVC 1/2 tubing : […]

Hey Hydro, how often do you have to change the water when you grow outside, and how do you keep the water from heating up? Thank you!!

If you put your light closer, your starts will stop stretching. They're reaching for the light.

I just use a GFCI and let the wires get wet. I try to keep the air pumps dry though because water kills them.

Just wondering, dont you need air stone for every bucket? if you put air stone just for the main water reservoir will that be effective enough?

20 minutes to see you build a dry box. What a bomb, definitely not as described!!!

African American buckets dude. AKA Black Buckets. Any other buckets will not filter light going to the roots. People are saying. Once you go black…..

Nice setup. I'd probably drop a hole in the bottom of the drybox as well… would suck to have the lid blow off and fill with water.

I have issues with the water temperatures getting too hot. How do you recommend addressing that? I’d prefer not to run a water chiller due to costs. Any other options?
