In this video I’ll show you how to build solid garden trellises out of electrical metal conduit, make it absolutely secure in the ground, and how to make your own nylon netting and the perfect trellis knot for it.

Great video and some good ideas. Thanks. I'm wondering though: I have several 4' square beds and I move my trellises from bed to bed, depending upon what I'm growing that season. So I need trellises that I can move around and therefore need them to be fairly rigid. First question is, could one bend these pipes (using a pipe bender) rather than use brackets? Second question is, would wire fencing material (instead of nylon netting) be more permanent and provide more rigidity?
This was GREAT! Thanks for sharing.
Best video I've seen so far for making a trellis. Thank you, so helpful. I'm going to try this out!
I have always wanted to know how to keep trellis from leaning. The conduit and rebar solves this problem perfectly!
I want to do this with my blackberries but will the string hold up and how long would it last?
I love it! Always looking for new/different materials to use/reuse and upcycle. Thanks.
how did your pumpkins turn out, ultimately? weren't they too heavy for the trellis? was the trellis able to support the weight of the pumpkins?
AWESOME!!!!
I've been wanting to make a trellis for my butternut squash for a few years, but just left it to grow on the ground. This is year I'm definitely doing it and was going to build one out of 1 by 1 wood, but after seeing this I'm definitely going to build this trellis.
Thank for the detail step by step tutorial!!
This was really helpful. Thanks!
Am I the only one who's bothered by the sound of that bit grinding away in the screw head? Use the clutch.
Excellent video. I esp. appreciated learning to make the netting. Thank you.
Great tutorial, THANK YOU!
This is a very detailed video. The information is really helpful to me. Thank you very much.
Thank you for the instructions!! I had to make mine movable (as in moving to a new house) so mine is make out of 1/2 & 3/4 PVC with dry fittings. I just finished one side of the trellis (its 3 sided). I might do the rest today but I cannot stand the weather here. I was pouring sweat just doing the down strings.
I don't have much room to put stuff outside (stupid Army housing) so I need something that I can take apart and that wont rust. Can I use PVC pipe and wood dowel rods? I plan on making a T at the base to keep it stable. To prevent the wind from messing with it, I am still thinking. Probably something heavy at the base.
A GREAT VIDEO. EASY FOR ME TO UNDERSTAND. I USED THIS IN MY WHOLE GARDEN AND WAS ABLE TO PLANT SO MUCH MORE. EXCUSE ALL CAPITALS — LOW VISION
Here's a tip. When pounding rebar and conduit into the ground, use a scrap piece of wood over it so that the edges won't be bent outwards. eventually, the wood piece may break from overuse and/or they may make indentations into the wood that would cause the wood to break but the rebar and conduit will still keep its shape.
Good work. You are the one
Excellent video, and entertaining too! Thanks for posting this. I'm making one right now.
SO EASY AND THANKS A MILLION FOR THE STEP BY STEP VIDEO.– I'M 80 AND EVEN I CAN MAKE THIS –AND THE PRICE IS RIGHT
Thank you so much for answering my question in such a detail! you are indeed a great teacher!
