Homestead Vegetable Garden Tour (Easter 2019). A look at the annual vegetable garden to see which homegrown vegetables might provide us with an abundance of food from our raised bed kitchen garden and what is planned for this growing season. This video is the second part (of two) of the Easter 2019 homestead tour.

About Us.
I share our organic homestead, called Byther Farm, with my loving partner, Mr J and our cat, Monty.
We are a fifty-something couple who live on a smallholding in Monmouthshire, Wales. We are going green and creating a gentler, cleaner and more healthy life for our family.
There is a large organic kitchen garden with no dig gardening raised beds and young food forest in which to grown our fruit and vegetables.
I’m currently exploring permaculture farming as a way of life.
We keep hybrid chickens and also have breeding flocks of Jersey Giants and Australorp chickens and Aylesbury ducks.

    Hi Liz,
    Great video as always.
Quick question, the Greek Gigantes Runner Beans did you use them fresh last year or let them dry for the beans?
I have just ordered some from the real seed company and they say that they are usually grown for the beans to go into soups etc rather than for the whole pod, so just wanted your opinion?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jay x

You are so well organized Great Video! Can I just ask, are your Chives German Chives? They look absolutely huge. There is a guy who had some like yours and when I asked him how are they so big he said they where a German Heirloom Variety Glad Monty's eye infection has gone. I accidentally put a spade through one of my giant runner bean tubers the day after we had that -7.2c and I thought it was finished so chucked it in the compost heap. Went to put some hedge trimmings in the other day and both pieces had grown long shoots trying to get to the light. I thought it was bind weed at first. Tough as old boots them runner beans haha Survived frost and being composted.

Great update Liz and all the garden is looking ready to burst into life. I've been sick with a chest infection and larygitis since before Easter and am so frustrated I can't get outside and do all the things I need to do!

I was having trouble with cats on my raised beds and noticed that a bed with a plastic bell cloche never gets disturbed, so I put one on each bed and now the cats keep clear. Must be the reflection they don’t like. The place looks great Liz. I’m very jealous.

Everything is looking fantastic Liz! Bless those overwintering beans! The weather’s been lovely here and it looks like it’s been the same with you too! Thank goodness for spring, warmth and sunshine ☀️ x
