In need of lumber to continue building his pole barn workshop, Pa Mac tries a simple method for turning trees on his property into boards. Watch as he demonstrates simple techniques of using chainsaw mills to make homemade lumber for the small farm or homestead.
Be sure and subscribe to the Farm Hand’s Companion channel to keep up with the progress as Pa Mac takes an undeveloped piece of property and turns it into a small subsistence farm. Watch for new episodes regularly. (As long as Pa Mac’s alive and kicking, he’s most assuredly farming and filming!)

a very good video and funny
Be sure you have a ripping chain for this. Most chains are crosscut obviously.
KKKKKKK very good!
LOL, be grateful you're not on a green chain, that would be about five minutes worth of lumber sorting… all kidding aside, thanks for the video!
Go take a nap. You're low energy.
i havent even got past a minute and i already like this guy.

Great idea with the jig and you existing chain saw. Believe me I here you about cutting with the grain of the wood. However well done and thanks for posting.

Granberg chaisaw sharpening tool would come handy! When I'm tired chain sharpening quality plumits.

Great job both with the lumber and the videocam! I wonder if you could tell me the brand and model name of the bigger of the two mills. You mentioned the smaller is 'the beam machine' for making cants. I like the fact that the bigger one has a safety feature around the tip of the bar. Thank you and keep milling!
Just stumbled across your channel, and I just want to say, thank you.
I like how he ran out of gas before the chainsaw!
just subscribed. planning on building a 10×20 shed on my property and a 6 foot tall lumber privacy fence for my first summer projects. thanks for the info and ideas.
why does this man not have 10 million subscribers? this channel is adorable gold!
Is it not cheaper just to go to Home Depot to buy some boards?
love the video. great editing
Now that's how to handle a tree! Good work, I could feel your exhaustion by the end of the video. That's a hard days work.
