We have 10 grow beds that we converted into SIP ( sub irrigated planter) aka wicking beds. 8 of them were built out of wood. They measure 4’x8’. 2 are made from a plastic 275 gal food grade IBC tote. They measure about 3’x4’. We had problems with rodents in the past so we build some structures to deter them. Some worked better than others. As far as plants go we are transitioning planting cool weather crops including lettuce, kale, broccoli, kohlrabi, beets, radish, kallette, rutabaga, sugar snap peas, and arugula. We are also growing chives, basil, rosemary, dill, onions, garlic, lemon grass, sage, asparagus, eggplants, artichoke, passion fruit, fig, mandarin orange, fig, blueberries, turmeric, ginger, comfrey, potatoes, sweet peas, succulents and other ornamental plants.
