G’Day Folks. Here’s a look at how I’ve started to grow some veggies using a small Kratky hydroponic system on our deck.
This system is a bit of a stop gap measure until we get the aquaponics & soil gardens sorted out after renovation.

Hope you enjoy this gander at the Kratky system.
Cheers all & Happy Growing. 🐟 🌱🍅

i use a pool noodle to put the plants in. cut 1" thick and then cut another one to quarter it for a wedge to hold plant in the center of 1st foam plant holder…

    Hi Rob,
I've watched the video a couple of times now, the wife and I have decided that we are going to try this this winter along with our vegepod experiment. I've already bought some more led lights to grow with.
    Best regards,
    Jarrod

Great clip, it seems like you've tried just about everything over the years. Would it be possible to do a "lessons learned" or similar clip on all of the trade-offs and recommendations for different growing systems you've built? For example, what plants might do better in a root pouch vs aquaponics, or how do you decide what to put in a wicking bed? Also, I remember the straw bale gardening, what was the end result of that? Overall great job, thanks again for all your tutorials.

First class Kratky operation going on Rob, with a fantastic place to sit and observe the plants growing. If you would like to try Kratky micro greens, check out Mike VanDuzee. Take care.

What are the nutrients made out of? It's why I find aquaponics so appealing because I know where the ferts come from

Thank you for sharing this, I now know why my first season did not do well as I had used full strength solution which I bought from a hydroponic store. I did have trouble with the chilli plants as they grew bigger as they needed to be stalked. I am going to try again.

That's a nice little set up there Rob. It'll work out, till you can get that new aquaponics design built . And fired up! Take care man!
