Hydroponic experiment, kratky.
Took a young tomato plant from under my HLG quantum board 65 and grew it under a 10watt grow light from IKEA. It grew the first 23 days under the quantum board and the rest under the small grow light from IKEA. As you can see the plant looks a little bit sluggish, could be some kind of genetic disease from the seed type. I will definitely try this again with another seed variety: https://www.rareseeds.com/micro-tom-tomato-/
For your information: The plant is completely grown in water with the basic nutrients and minerals the plant will need, so called hydroponics or the Kratky method.
Type of tomato: Maskotka

Does the light have to be on 24/7?
Great video. I was thinking about getting the grow lights from ikea for my hydroponic / aeroponic systems. You should try to get your hands on some cucamelon seeds. Best regards.
Thank you so much for the video! Many people insist that it isn't possible.
Thanks for this, very cool experiment! I am growing dwarf red robin tomatoes in my apartment. I have 250w cfl lights, was wondering if I need red and blue lights. The plants are flowering now.
Cool experiment, I liked that
TRY TO PUT SOME RED AND BLUE LED …. BETTER FOR fruit ….. but good job thx to share ….
That is actually a pretty good fruit to watt ratio. Nice job but you could do better if you dial in your nutrients. Overall impressive.
What variety is this? Great vid!
