Start your cucumbers, squash and zucchini in containers/cups about 4 weeks before they would go into warm ground. I use composted manure, humus and manure or similar to prepare the planting area. Cucumbers are heavy feeders. I also show you 5 different ways to grow them on a variety of trellises.

What is the purpose of the pots in the ground?
Hi Gary! First year gardener here… My cucumber seedlings are at ~6 weeks, so it's about time to transplant them to the garden. I followed your instructions in a previous video (2 per cell, bottom-water), and they're looking good. Is it possible to split the two seedlings from a given cell into two different plots in the garden? Or would your recommend keeping them together to avoid disturbing the root system? (I'm worried about competition if I plant them together)… Also, what time of day is best to transplant to avoid shock? Thanks so much! You've been a big help in my first season.
what state you live in?
Hi, Sir,
Pls explain what if the leaves become yellow and part of the stem get dried.sometimes the cocumber will fall on the ground as soon as they emerged from the flowers
thanks,I like your video
great information man !!! great step by step instructions for great results !! thanks for sharing !! all the best and happy gardening !!
love your channel, man!
More composted manure moving into the polytunnel! See, i don't know these things because i was never able to grow them before. (that is, if my polytunnel survived last nights heavy thunderstorm) Should i just put it on the cucumbers or is it ok for tomatoes too? Melons are probably heavy feeders as well. If they are all hungry plants i will just cover the soil and leave it at that.
whats the purpose of cutting the bottom of the containers out. just curious
Hi Gary, I have been subscribed to you for over 2 years. I have a 3 by 4 garden and last year I brought too many different types of tomatoes and herbs and put them all in together. This year I have a child and want to include him in the gardening process.. What would you suggest different types of vegetables that I can put in my garden for the summer. I live in the North East Jersey. Thanks Yolanda
My plants are already in my beds. What method of fertilizing do you recommend for after the fact?
looks really great good start for the plants
my transplants are about 6weeks and they are starting to flower already. Is that normal? I've only given it fish fertilizer. will they be ok?
I'm also interested in how you kill the ants without killing the plant. last year I grew tomatoes in the same manner as you did, but ants invaded 0ne of the pots.
Thanks for the video. Love your setup. Do you use fish-fertilizer in addition to the manure?
What do you do for the ants?…i have raised rows in my garden and am starting to notice ant holes..thanks again :)
Male flowers
This is my first year gardening . I am in Alabama . Can you tell me why I am only getting mile flowers?
Borax and sugar for the ants? I have used this in the past and it is fantastic. Thanks for sharing this, it reminds me to feed my cukes!
