hello; I have a question. Do you think you can do a segment on apts with no balconies? I have a 2 room apt and my bathroom is across the hall. The bathroom has no window. Is there away to home gardening for me? thanks for your time.
Dont tell me the food forest is gone?!
RECYCLE, JAKE!
When you look at the tower you will notice that the plants can grow under the prior level so they do not get enough sun. Always, always, always watch this or else your plants will die.Wish the company would have come out with the new tray when I bought mine. The tray that was extra cost is not easy to clean the calcium build up on it.
I used the exact soil mix combination but lost all the plants. Did not use seaweed since this is a different video than the one I saw last fall when he first did the video. He has used Lowe's compost for years and now he says not to go to "big box" stores. Wish he would review his prior videos because he keep changing his mind.
The problem is the water does not reach the entire plants roots after the plants start to grow. Tried all summer in Arizona to get it to grow. Then all the plants developed fungus. Will try again and watch the water problem. Maybe drilling bigger holes . Also, recommend the gray vertical garden and not black because black holds the heat and will kill your plants.
Why is this faggot still on the internet?
How about using the boxes and paper as starter material for an indoor worm composting system which can be used to compliment the two towers. Here is a link to one on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BDO17GC?th=1
How come you don't use the free compost from the city of Tempe?
If you have the green stalk in the open where tree debris can get into it put a screen on top or the holes will get plugged up.
Compost it
thank you for the balcony gardening tips! not enough of these videos online. What do you recommend when you need to change out the soil? just add more compost/potting soil or change out the whole thing?
Got mine in the mail not to long ago, can't wait to use it when I move into my new apartment!
Jack hi, I'm disabled, no patio just a fire escape and I'm not allowed to grow anything on it, so what do you recommended
Sorry if I missed it, but did you mention which direction the balcony is facing? Thanks.
Great vid man and ty for sharing this
Shred and compost the paper and boxes.
Chop up the box and shred up the paper. Then use it like mulch. Or get a worm cafe worm farm and use in your worm farm.
Hey Jake thanks for such amazing videos…I am in Avondale I appreciate what you are doing to make a difference in a world….I think you should use the cardboard as sheet mulch/weed barrier that can break down over time and shred the paper and place in your compost…just a thought…thanks again for who you are.
