The first thing to do for the design of a garden is to evaluate your green space to decide how to divide the various areas to be enriched with ornamental plants since not all surfaces are suitable for any type of plant and therefore we must analyze the consistency of the soil, any slopes or the presence of rocks that will be useful for the creation of natural scenographies of great impact.
The study of the shadows that will alternate over the seasons in our garden will help us to place the plants. Our house will not have to shade the plants that need a lot of light but also the plants that will grow significantly, they will not have to give too much shade to the windows on the ground floor and therefore the password must always be balance. To have an optimal result, our garden must never be biased in favor of one season rather than another or of a more visible area rather than another.

design a garden
The garden is probably the most direct expression of the owner’s imagination and personality. However, putting up a garden in a totally spontaneous and impulsive way, I don’t …
To have clear ideas on how to arrange the flower beds in our garden, an advice from those in the sector to sit down at a table, get a pen and paper and create patterns that will give us the opportunity to evaluate the progress of the blooms in everyone. the months of the year creating a pleasant “spot of color” effect even in winter by identifying the plants that bloom even in the coldest periods and that will give the whole a luxuriant and natural appearance even when the other trees have faded and unadorned. A plant that lends itself well to this use is the “Solid Corydalis” also known as Colombina, Cordiale or Bulbous Fumaria which grows at a variable height from 10 to 25 cm. and needs a soil rich in very fertile organic substances as a plant that grows spontaneously in the first undergrowth, away from direct sunlight.
There are excellent irrigation systems on the market that will help us keep our garden in perfect condition. There are two irrigation systems: drip and rain.
The drip irrigation system provides for the installation of special drippers that will be strategically placed in areas of the ground so as to supply it constantly and reduce waste or water losses to a minimum. The sprinkler irrigation system distributes water through sprinklers which are similar to rain fall allowing for even distribution throughout the garden.
There are many gardening techniques we can use to create our garden. Among the most fascinating we find the Italian garden that we can admire in our public parks or botanical gardens and characterized by geometric shapes delimited by hedges that enclose well-harmonized flower beds between patches of color and the green of the plants. This type of garden needs periodic maintenance and demanding care. The English garden is much more natural, without any constraints, airy and is experienced as a free space even if it needs care and maintenance because, even if it looks like a wild place, it is very elegant and welcoming. The Zen garden, a technique developed in Japan and now known all over the world, offers sinuous and natural shapes and does not accept elements in even number but proposes a triangle shape by juxtaposing low bushes to tall trees or the presence of a pond where imposing rocks will sprout . For those who live in the city and do not want to deprive themselves of a green space, they can turn to a hanging garden which can be a perfect solution for balconies and terraces, with plants that must be treated and cared for as if they were in a traditional garden. This formula, in my opinion, is not very easy to design and therefore I think it is better to contact an expert in the sector.
Around Italy, at various times of the year, market exhibitions are held for gardening enthusiasts and for those who wish to discover new creative and refined ideas for designing their own garden. In October the “Orticolario” exhibition market was held where there were presentations of rare varieties of plants such as the “Westwood rose”, or plants such as heather, rustic and resistant to cold which, mixed in a large bowl with colored callunas, it is used to give warmth to our garden, or a type of wisteria, the “Milletia Satsuma” which has the particularity of flowering until December producing clusters with dark red-purplish flowers and is used as an elegant bush coloring the garden even in winter . There was no shortage of exciting scenographies such as the sculpture vase made up of ovaloid stones and slate splinters arranged to form a huge amphora of great effect.
