Funny how people talk about karma and "this is what you get when you elect the current administration", yet if you'd watched the entire thing you'd see the worker shortage is leading to more high tech machinery replacing jobs most people don't want to do. In a few decades these jobs may not even be needed.
Furthermore, there are endless other factors at work. Easy access to welfare, Americans would rather take that than work. Many Americans are no longer raised in a way that gets them used to working hard, and thus they can't cope with it. Farmers favoring immigrants who have no concept of an 8 hour work day, worker rights, or first world lifestyle. There are currently several lawsuits brought to court by laid off black farm workers who say they were replaced by immigrants. Wages that Americans can not live off of. Farm jobs are just one of many fields that wages have stagnated in, along with construction, landscaping, road work, etc. This stagnation is also reaching into finance and technology with the mass importation of H1B visa holders.

Couldn't stay interested long enough, but I have a solution. Put convicts in chains and force them to work the fields. Instead of having them live on the government's teat, make them earn a living. Another solution is to force the farmers pay a decent wage and let the "free market" decide their fate. Instead of big business being a profit monger, let the true value for everything be revealed.

So farmers were abusing migrant workers paying them below minimum wage thus driving away the US labor pool of people who normally do this work. And when the government steps in and says you cant do this illegal stuff anymore, they cry? Im sure that if they at least paid a minimum wage that there would be US citizens ready to pick these crops. You are outside in the sun getting a healthy sun tan getting your vitamin D and your getting paid. You dont need the gym or exercise cause you get enough at work. You can eat all the fruit you can handle for free(as long as no one is looking). Ill do it! whats the pay?

Karma Is Inevitable! People voted against their own interests. Actions have consequences. This administration's racist immigration policies is not only destroying our farming industry, but our entire nation. Sadly, "nobody knows the good they have until it is gone." U.S. Citizens do not want these jobs.

What is happening here is that now Mexico is getting smarter and they are running the new generation of labor abundant fields IN Mexico. There is so much going for Mexico because of the weather patterns that Mexico will be the biggest farm food provider in the world.

This is what happens when the pay is not worth the time. The work is seasonal, no benefits, payed by production not by hour so you often make LESS than minimum wage unless you're a superstar athlete, exposed outside to the elements such as blazing sun or cold rain, the work is hazardous with questionable coworkers, and the worst part is no overtime whatsoever. Who in their right mind would choose that over working at McDonalds?!
