We built an indoor hydroponic grow tower system in our basement using ideas from other growers [Joe Neumayer] and this is our first harvest because frankly we could not wait any longer and we wanted a fresh salad. Hey Marty, congrats to you on building the system to fruition! It's a great feeling to see you making sustainable and healthy lifestyle choices by growing your own food hydroponically! Great job!

I if I may, I'd recommend leaving in the kale and trimming off the larger leaves instead of removing the entire plant from the hydrogarden. You can harvest your kale for 2 or 3 months before the plant gets too big and you should replace it with a new seedling. Also, once your lettuce gets to that size you harvested, growth rate explodes so I'd leave it in another 2 weeks, but I know how excited you were to gobble them up! I have no doubt the taste surpassed your expectations. Again, congrats and happy growing!
