West of Toronto, about 1 1/2 hours away from Niagara Falls is the region of Kitchener and Waterloo. It is home of Amish and to approximately 4,000 Old Order Mennonites who farm the surrounding countryside. The small village of St. Jacobs is renowned since decades for Canada’s largest year-round farmers’ market.
The range of local products is excellent. In the summer time at peak 600 vendors sell their goods. These range from crafts to bakery products, meat, cheese, first-class maple syrup, Mennonite furniture, household goods and clothes. The people on the market are very friendly and always ready for a chat.
Most of the Amish and Mennonites speak Pennsylvania Dutch, an old German dialect with English words. Therefore, it is not surprising that there are stands with German folk music as you can hear in the video.
In this region you can still see horse-drawn carriages on the road. Therefore the Farmers Market has special parking spaces for horses and carriages.
The Framers Market is open year round on Thursdays and Saturdays and from mid-June to late August additionally on Tuesdays.

Really amazing
very nice place , i going to visit !
There was a time when historical Mennonites were kind to animals and did not kill them for meat. Sugar is not righteous to eat either.
Good sound,
Very nice video !!
This video hurts my heart a little bit. This building is now gone, destroyed in a fire.
The smell, the appeal, the heritage are now gone. Replaced by an invasion of cultural exploitation and comsumerism
It isn't the same, and never will be again.
